No matter how far advanced you get in this world, you will have some form of anxiety. Anxiety is a normal part of a human’s life and it’s important to understand it and better manage it. If I don’t manage my anxiety correctly it could hurt me. So today I will share with you all how exactly I manage my anxiety.
I pace myself
Often times whenever I get really bad anxiety, it’s because I have racing thoughts. Thoughts that are really leading to nowhere and usually end up with nothing. So, I have to remind myself that I need to pace what I’m doing and keep it real. Keep it real in the sense that be realistic with yourself. You have to understand yourself what is possible and what is not possible and go about your day doing what is possible.
I’ll give you an example, I want to play pool, I want to join the military, I want to work out, play guitar, get rich, etc. etc. I know for a fact that doing all of these things is actually not possible. I have to pick which ones I want to do the most and stick with it. Sometimes I get this rush of, “oh I really want to do this cool thing and I will do it to the extreme!” but it’s just not possible. So, I have to stick with the guns that I’ve been given and go with it.
I identify what triggers me
When I go through something that causes me to feel negatively, I tend to steer clear from that situation or event. So, whenever I see something that triggers my anxiety, I will steer clear from it because anxiety is just not needed.
Sometimes anxiety can be good
In this instance, I’m talking about stress. Stress can be good if it makes you do something good.
Say for example this, if you have a paper due tomorrow and you’ve only done the rough draft, then it’s time to get writing! This type of stress gets me moving and gives me the strength to do the things that in all reality, I don’t want to do.
