Resilience is the capacity to overcome obstacles, adversity, and stress. It is a skill that may be acquired and enhanced by various activities, including engaging in self-care, creating social networks, or learning coping mechanisms.
When you are resilient, you can draw on your inner strength to overcome obstacles or setbacks like losing your job, being sick, experiencing a tragedy, or losing a loved one.
Lack of Resilience can lead to victimizing yourself, feeling overwhelmed, or using unhealthy coping strategies, including substance misuse, food disorders, or dangerous activities.
Consider the following ideas. They may result in better outcomes for your general well-being and physical and mental health.
Practice self-care
Build social support
Learn coping skills
Develop a positive mindset
Set goals
Stay flexible
Seek help when needed
Remember that developing Resilience requires time and effort, and setbacks are a normal part of the process. You can build your Resilience and improve your ability to deal with life’s obstacles if you keep practicing these techniques.
